Hunter Valley Christmas Celebrations

End-of-year lunches, family gatherings and private celebrations across the Hunter Valley's finest cellar doors. Door-to-door from Sydney, the Central Coast, Palm Beach and the Hunter.

Coast to Cork runs small-group and private tours through December, tailored to how you want to celebrate — a relaxed team lunch, a milestone family day, or an intimate private tour for a group of friends. We handle the wineries, the restaurant bookings and the driving. You bring the people you'd like to spend the day with.

PRIVATE CELEBRATIONS

Milestone birthdays. Engagements and anniversaries. A hens' day that isn't like everyone else's. An end-of-year thank-you to the people who made the year work.

A private tour gives you the vehicle, the guide and the whole day to yourselves. Nobody else joins you, and nothing about the day is off the shelf. We start by asking what the occasion is and who it's for, then build the itinerary around that — the cellar doors that will suit your group, a lunch at a kitchen worth lingering over, and a pace that leaves room for the day to breathe rather than marching to a timetable.

It's the difference between a tour you attend and a day that belongs to you.

The details are where a private day really shows itself. We let the venues know in advance that there's something to celebrate, so your group is looked after accordingly. Cheese boards can be arranged at your first cellar door. Dietary requirements are handled quietly with the kitchen before you arrive. If there's a particular winery someone in the group has always wanted to visit, or a wine they love, tell us and we'll try to work it in.

You'll also visit places most tours simply can't. Thomas Allen Wines is a members-only estate, and Coast to Cork is the only touring company permitted to bring guests through the gate. At Keith Tulloch there's an artisan chocolatier on site, and gin from FAR Distillery to try alongside your tasting at no extra cost.

Tell us what you're marking and we'll shape the day around it.

A FAMILY CHRISTMAS IN THE VINES

For families spread across Sydney and the coast, a Hunter Valley day is the rare gathering everyone genuinely enjoys. We pick up from multiple addresses, so nobody has to coordinate a convoy or nominate a driver.

Our private tours are family friendly and welcome children. We build the day around your group — venues with gardens and space to move, a lunch that suits younger appetites as well as older ones, and a pace that leaves room for a wander rather than rushing between tastings. Grandparents, parents and children all in the one vehicle, all part of the same day.We carry child seats and fit them for you, so there's no wrestling with restraints at the kerb.

Many families visiting the Hunter Valley at Christmas are here for the Christmas Lights Spectacular at Hunter Valley Gardens in Pokolbin, which draws thousands of visitors through November, December and January. It's an easy pairing. Spend the day with us across the cellar doors and a long lunch, and we'll have you back at your accommodation in good time to head into the Gardens for the lights that evening. If you're staying in Pokolbin, the Gardens are minutes away.

Small-group tours are adults only. For families travelling with children, a private tour is the way to do it.

Small group Christmas lunch at a Pokolbin cellar door, Hunter Valley

Superb day and we’re sure our guide Daniel definitely pulled some strings. We had one on one service at the exceptional 1813 winery and took a couple of boxes home. Talits Estate had another friendly offering and the portion sizes at Cafe Enzo were generous. We were glad a lunch booking was secured as this venue was fully booked. Cannot fault the service at any place and then we had a once in a lifetime premium tasting at Keith Tulloch Wine in their member’s area. We waved our goodbyes after a speedy return to our accommodation and would definitely recommend Daniel and Kylie to anyone planning a Hunter Valley tour. Thanks again.
